20 year-old princess supports 50, 000 widows with N30m

March 22, 2023

For widows in the Arochukwu and Abriba kingdoms of Abia State, life is improving due to the help of a young Nigerian princess and medical doctor who has dedicated her life to supporting widows and setting them on the path of financial independence.

Nkechiyere John Obuh, a young Ohafia princess whose passion lies in putting smiles on the faces of people, has given succour to 50 000 widows within Abia communities.

Nkechiyere, a young Nigerian medical doctor domiciled in Sweden, was born into a royal family and has been a source of joy to many widows, especially within Arochukwu and Abriba kingdoms, where she had been supporting the widows with different items and monetary assistance.

The 2016 graduate of Surgery and Medicine from the prestigious University College, London, is the first daughter of former Golden Eaglet, Nigeria Under-17 team coach who is currently the Technical Director of an Italian football club, AS Roma Academy, and like her football coach father, she also played professionally for female clubs in Sweden.

Nkechiyere, who had spent up to 30 million nairas on the project, has not collaborated with any organisation but had been spending her personal funds to fuel her passion.

“I see no big deal in the decision to help the widows and that is the reason I’m not running an NGO, I just can’t afford to see those women suffering, and that is the reason I am giving my widow’s mite to help them,” she said.
