A large number of Verizon customers started off their Monday with phone service issues due to an outage, which persisted more than seven hours later. Luckily, as of 5:04 p.m. ET, Verizon has announced that its engineers are finally making progress on the issue and Verizon customers have been reporting that their service has been restored. My own service came back on at 5:30 p.m. ET.
