Taken by Boston with the No. 28 overall pick of the first round of the 2025 NBA draft, Gonzalez’ minimal role with his last team may have distorted the view of what he can add to a high-level team. It is true that Real Madrid plays at a lower level of competition than there is in the NBA, but the team is also loaded with several NBA vets now playing in Europe, so the fact that Gonzalez got regular minutes at all is something to take note of.
