UConn's Dan Hurley Had Subtle Reaction After EA Sports Announces College Basketball Return

June 30, 2025

UConn’s Dan Hurley Had Subtle Reaction After EA Sports Announces College Basketball Return originally appeared on Athlon Sports.

EA Sports brought plenty of excitement on Monday by announcing the return of its college basketball video game.

“Bring the Madness. Let’s run it back. #CBB #ItsInTheGame,” EA Sports posted on X.

It’s been a long time since fans had the chance to play as their favorite college basketball team in a video game. The last edition was released on Nov. 17, 2009, before the series was discontinued in February 2010.

The decision from EA Sports came after the great success of College Football 25, the first collegiate video game released since July 9, 2013. The gaming company is rolling with the momentum, as College Football 26 is set to be released in July.

Meanwhile, right after the announcement on Monday, Barstool Sports shared the news in its own way with a photo of UConn Huskies head coach Dan Hurley.

Hurley saw the post and reacted to it with no words. Instead, he reposted it on X.

According to Extra Points’ Matt Brown, the game won’t be released until 2028. However, it’s clear that Hurley is excited about the return for him to engage with the post on social media.

Hurley is widely considered one of the best coaches in all of college basketball. The 52-year-old is a two-time national champion and won the Naismith Coach of the Year, Sporting News National Coach of the Year and Big East Coach of the Year in 2024.

Hurley has been at UConn for seven seasons now after previous stints at Rhode Island and Wagner.
