There are 23 venues around Los Angeles that will host parts of the 2028 Los Angeles Summer Olympics.
Some of these venues are already regularly holding big sporting events like the World Series at Dodger Stadium and NBA All-Star Weekend at the Intuit Dome. Other venues, like the Santa Monica Pier and the Rose Bowl, will be outdoors and offer beautiful Southern California backdrops for the Olympic Games.
Action Network recently conducted a study to determine which venues fans are most excited for and what factors fans believe make a good venue for the Olympics. The study analyzed Google and Tripadvisor public ratings then used a logarithmic formula to determine rankings for each venue.
“Because a 4.7 rating from 500 people isn’t the same as a 4.6 rating from 130,000, we weighted both average rating and total review volume using a logarithmic formula, then normalized results to a 0–100 scale for fair comparison across venue types,” Action Network’s Amy Harris wrote.

Based on the findings of Action Network’s study, one of the most important traits for a venue to have was a beautiful view. Santa Monica Pier, which ranked No. 1 overall in the study, offers an ocean backdrop for beach volleyball games.
Going off the beautiful views, outdoor venues typically ranked higher than indoor venues.
The study also found that fans were most excited about venues that already have a history of hosting big events. For example, Crypto.com Arena and Dodger Stadium, which ranked No. 3 and No. 4, host games for local teams like the Los Angeles Dodgers and Los Angeles Lakers.
