The Oklahoma City Thunder held practice on Saturday. They’re amid another two-day break before they host the Utah Jazz on Sunday. That will complete a lengthy five-game homestand.
The Thunder remain ahead of the San Antonio Spurs for first place. With just a week to go in the regular season, they almost have to win out to maintain that spot. Next up is their last gimme game. The Jazz are full-on tanking at this point.
Thunder head coach Mark Daigneault and Jaylin Williams talked to the media after practice. Daigneault talked about what Lu Dort was able to do after a scary fall in OKC’s 139-96 win over the Los Angeles Lakers. Williams revealed why they pranked Thomas Sorber.

Jaylin Williams on filling Thomas Sorber’s car up with packing peanuts: “I don’t know what you’re talking about. It was a mixed thing. We had to get him. There was some stuff adding up. We kinda let it slide for a couple of things and that was the last straw.” pic.twitter.com/5TCRjfyzJD

Mark Daigneault: “Our defense has been really good. It gives us a chance to every single night… Keeping us in stretches of the game where the offense goes in and out, or where shots don’t fall, and when the offense is going, it allows us to build leads.” pic.twitter.com/J2drfdEYnC

Mark Daigneault on Cody Williams: “He’s getting the experience that young players need, especially a guy who only did one year college. Physically, he wasn’t fully developed. He’s still not. He’ll look a lot different when he’s 24 than he does right now, but the reps are huge for… pic.twitter.com/g7ZaV014WF

Mark Daigneault said Lu Dort was able to do stuff at today’s practice. But noted they’ll see his status later on the injury report and that it was a ‘low-impact’ practice day

Mark Daigneault: “I think we see adversities as a challenge and an opportunity and not a threat. I think a lot of times when you have injuries or your schedule’s tough or your shots aren’t falling or the calls aren’t going your way, there’s a tendency to have victim mentality and… pic.twitter.com/W7jqdK79KD
