Sometimes as fans we feel like the things that we do during games, or before games, impacts the outcome of our favorite sporting events. It’s an absurd thing to think and absolutely nobody with anyone intelligence truly believes that some sort of universal sports god is watching what we are doing and making decisions on wins and losses based on what we as individuals do. In completed unrelated news, after Purdue’s loss to Michigan State I’ve shaved my beard that I’ve had for months. I’m sure the two are unrelated. Anyway…
Purdue is on the road in Columbus today to face and Ohio State team that is in desperate need of a signature victory. They are riding the bubble like they are James Bond windsurfing after a tsunami. Right now their best win on the season is a 86-69 home victory over the Wisconsin Badgers. While that’s certainly a good win it’s not impressive enough that it will put them in over someone else should there be a question on Selection Sunday. Now, with a top 10 ranked (for now) Purdue coming into town I’m sure the Buckeyes see this as their best chance for that signature win. Purdue has been a bit of a road warrior in this conference season and will look to add their 7th conference road win today in Columbus.
