“He’s a danger” – Former Chelsea defender is not impressed with current Blues player

Former Chelsea defender Frank Leboeuf is not impressed with current Blues goalkeeper Robert Sanchez after his latest performance.

Sanchez has been much better of late and has had a lot less noise around him in terms of criticism and unrest from Chelsea fans.

Pretty much every Chelsea fan wanted Sanchez sold in the summer and previous to that. But he’s really turned it around lately and has found some top form. But even still, it seems that many people are still not convinced by the former Brighton stopper, especially with the ball at his feet.

His shot stopping is top drawer, I don’t think that can be debated. But it is playing out from the back and how he comes for crosses that worries people so much.

Speaking to ESPN, former Chelsea star Leboeuf was very critical of Chelsea’s no.1 goalkeeper.

“He’s a very good goalkeeper but we have to stop telling him that he’s capable of playing out from the back. He’s bad from his feet, he scares everybody. I was jumping every time he got the ball. He’s a danger.

“Rosenior should tell him to stop being so easy-going because he doesn’t know what he’s doing on the ball. I was very upset with that. You could see the difference between Sanchez and [David] Raya, it was huge.”

In other news today…

Matt Law of The Telegraph reported earlier this week that Chelsea are “making it clear” to their players that booking for dissent won’t be tolerated anymore.

Chelsea don’t have long to stew over their defeat – they’re back in action against Aston Villa on Wednesday night, and have some important players close to returning to action.
