Fear has gripped the Tudun Yola area of Gwale Local Government in Kano after unknown assailants murdered a woman and her co-wife in a brutal late night attack, burning the body of one of them.
The incident happened on Monday night at the home of Alhaji Ashiru Shu’aibu. According to him, the attackers broke into the house in the middle of the night and killed his wives without mercy.
“They entered our house at night, killed my wives and then set one of the bodies on fire. I still don’t know why they carried out this wicked act,” he said.
A neighbour with a CCTV camera said a review of the footage showed three young men standing at the entrance of the house, though they hid their faces.
The Kano State Police Command, through its spokesperson, CSP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, confirmed the incident but said no further details would be released for now due to ongoing investigations.
The attack has left residents stunned and deeply concerned about what they describe as a rise in violent incidents in some parts of Kano.
