PDP begins sale of forms for 2025 bye-elections

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has officially begun the sale of Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms for the upcoming 2025 bye-elections.

According to a statement released on Wednesday, by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Hon. Debo Ologunagba, on X, the sale of forms starts on Thursday, July 3, 2025, and will end on Thursday, July 10, 2025.

The statement said the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party has approved the timetable and schedule of activities for the bye-elections in 12 states across Nigeria.

“The affected constituencies include:
Adamawa State – Ganye State Constituency, Anambra State – Anambra South Senatorial District, Onitsha North State Constituency, Edo State – Edo Central Senatorial District, Ovia North East/South West Federal Constituency, Jigawa State – Batura/Garki Federal Constituency, Kaduna State – Chikun/Kajuru Federal Constituency, Zaria/Kawasaki and Basawa State Constituency.

Others are Kano State – Shanono/Bagwai State Constituency, Kogi State – Okura II State Constituency, Niger State – Munya State Constituency, Ogun State – Ikenne/Shagamu/Remo North Federal Constituency, Oyo State – Ibadan North Federal Constituency, Taraba State – Karim Lamido I State Constituency and Zamfara State – Kaura Namoda South State Constituency.

“The last day for submission of completed forms is Friday, July 11, 2025, at the PDP National Secretariat in Wuse Zone 5, Abuja.

“The NWC assures all party leaders, stakeholders and members of a transparent and credible nomination process as we march towards victory in the bye-elections,” the statement added.

As shown in the timetable, the party primaries (candidate nominations) will be held on Monday, July 21, 2025, while the final date for the elections is set for Saturday, August 16, 2025.

“Fees for the forms vary by position. Aspirants for the Senate will pay ₦500,000 for Expression of Interest and ₦3 million for Nomination. Female aspirants and Persons Living with Disabilities (PLWD) are to pay for Expression of Interest forms only,” the statement added.

The PDP also encouraged youth aspirants under 40 to take advantage of the 50% discount on nomination forms.

“Forms are available at the party’s national headquarters, and all interested members are invited to pick up and submit their forms before the deadline,” the post read.
