The All Progressives Congress, APC, North-Central Forum has renewed its call for Governor Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau State to defect from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to the ruling APC.
The Forum made the call on Thursday in Jos, the Plateau State capital, during the its third-quarter meeting of the year, citing recent political developments that, according to them, favour such a move.
The Chairman of the Forum, Saleh Zazzaga, in a statement said the call on Governor Mutfwang to decamp from the PDP to the APC was based on political analysis and projections before and after the 2023 general elections.
Zazzaga describes the forum as influential, stressing that its political advocacy had yielded several positive outcomes, including the establishment of the North-Central Development Commission and the return of the APC National Chairmanship position to the North-Central.
“Among all our calls, one that stands out is our consistent appeal for Governor Caleb Mutfwang to join the APC—a call we initiated in 2023,” said.
“Although other political groups are now beginning to echo the same message, the fact remains that we were the first to make this call, based on our political sagacity, investigative insight, grassroots mobilisation, and commitment to strengthening party structures,” Zazzaga said.
Zazzaga urged the governor to act in line with his administration’s mantra, ‘The Time is Now,’ by joining the APC.
