Former Arsenal player, Gilberto Silva, has warned Chelsea ahead of their FIFA Club World Cup quarter-final clash with Palmeiras on Saturday.
Silva insisted that the Brazilian side can hurt teams, adding that they are very strong on the counter-attack.
Palmeiras are set to face Chelsea in the quarter-final stage of the Club World Cup this weekend.
Both teams defeated Botafogo and Benfica in the Round of 16 stage.
“Abel [Ferreira’s] Palmeiras are a team that know how to close on sides very effectively, but at the same time are very strong on the counter-attack,” Silva told FIFA’s official website.
“They can hurt teams with high-quality players. It’s not just the 11 players who start the match, because they also have quality on the bench.
“So, we have fewer teams in the competition, and that makes it even more impressive when we see Brazilian teams doing well. I hope that they can keep progressing.”
