Human rights activist, Omoyele Sowore, has called for mass protests and demonstrations in the northern region against the government of President Muhammadu Buhari, which he described as incompetent.
Sowore said Buhari’s ineptitude has led to bloodletting in the northern region and nationwide.

The activist, in a tweet on Sunday, said Nigerians must rise and reject the inefficiency of the Buhari regime, as well as mobilise for mass protests.
He said, “#NorthIsBleeding…I am calling on everyone to ensure no more lives are lost due to @MBuhari’s incompetence/wickedness. Please join in participating, supporting & ensuring we put an end to bloodletting across Nigeria particularly in the northern parts #securenorth #revolutionnow.”
SaharaReporters had on Friday reported that using the hashtag #NorthIsBleeding, some Nigerians from the Northern part of the country took to Twitter, a microblogging and social networking service, to demand Buhari’s resignation over his failure to combat increasing insecurity in the region.
They also condemned Buhari’s visit to Lagos for a book launch and the inauguration of some projects a few days after bandits killed and burnt dozens of travellers in Sokoto State.
