Wike Upgrades Kwali Monarch, Pledges Road Projects, Modern Palace

March 10, 2026

Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has upgraded the traditional ruler of Kwali area council to a first-class status and promised the construction of a modern palace and the swift execution of road projects in the area.

During a ‘Thank You’ visit to the council, Wike announced the upgrade of the community’s traditional stool to a first-class chieftaincy.

He also assured residents of an imminent infrastructure boom in the council.

The visit served as both an interactive session and an appreciation rally, during which the minister emphasised the administration’s commitment to honouring its word, reiterating his personal mantra: “Agreement is agreement.”

In the highlight of the event, the minister announced the immediate upgrade of the Kwali traditional ruler’s stool, citing the monarch’s steadfast support for the President’s administration.

He also pledged the construction of a befitting modern palace for the traditional ruler to match his new status.

Wike assured residents that all promised road projects in the area would be executed, signaling an imminent mobilisation of contractors.

Furthermore, he commended the people of Kwali for fulfilling their promise to support the President during the last interactive session.

He noted that the administration’s responsiveness was a direct result of the community’s loyalty and the effective advocacy of its local leadership.

“Your outgoing chairman and the chairman-elect are people whom we will always listen to because they have the interests of the people of Kwali at heart.

“Today, by the grace of God, you have fulfilled the promise you made to Mr. President and we will also fulfill the promise we have made to you,” the minister said.

The minister concluded by reassuring the crowd that the President remains committed to providing the necessary support to the council, framing the day’s upgrades as just the beginning of a deeper partnership between the FCT Administration and the people of Kwali.
