The emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, has enjoined the Lesser Hajj pilgrims in Saudi Arabia to pray fervently for peace and harmony to continue to reign in Nigeria.
He said peaceful coexistence, religious harmony and prevention of breakdown of law and order are the major catalysts that could facilitate the actualisation of the desired growth in the country.
Sulu-Gambari made the call in a goodwill message issued by his press secretary, Dr Abdulazeez Arowona.
“I urge you all to use this auspicious occasion of umrah pilgrimage to intensify effort for fervent prayers for Ilorin Emirate, Kwara State, Nigeria and humanity at large for the actualisation of global peace amidst ongoing tension and insecurity, amongst other social vices.”
The emir appealed to pilgrims from Kwara State and Nigerians in general to be good ambassadors of the nation throughout their stay in Makkah and Madinnah, and shun all acts capable of projecting Nigeria in bad image.
He prayed to God to grant the pilgrims a rewarding pilgrimage and safe return to Nigeria.
Sulu- Gambari also sent his goodwill messages to Muslims who intend to perform Itikhaf in Jummat Mosques across the country.
