Agenz, a Moroccan proptech startup that digitises real estate transactions, has raised $5 million to support product development and strengthen its investments in artificial intelligence.
The funding round saw participation from Breega, a European venture capital firm, Attijariwafa Ventures, and Saviu Ventures, an Africa-focused growth capital fund.
The raise comes three years after Agenz’s $1.3 million pre-Series A financing round as activity in Morocco’s property market picks up. Residential land transactions surpassed 140,000 in 2023, an increase from 2022, according to a World Bank document, highlighting the opportunity for digital platforms that simplify property transactions for users.
“We believe the future of real estate will be built on the responsible use of data and artificial intelligence,” said Malik Belkeziz, Co-founder and CEO of Agenz. “Our ambition is to leverage technology to create a more transparent, secure and accessible market, while keeping user trust at the centre of everything we do. This funding will allow us to accelerate this vision for the benefit of the entire Moroccan real estate ecosystem.”
Founded in 2021 by Malik and Badr Belkeziz, Agenz operates an integrated real estate platform that combines property valuation tools, market intelligence, solutions for professional services, and digital transaction solutions. The fresh capital will also be used to expand the company’s services for individuals, real estate agents, developers, investors and financial institutions, according to the company.
“Agenz has built, in just a few years, the platform the Moroccan real estate sector was missing, bringing together data, tools and transactions into one seamless experience,” said Driss Ibenmansour, Partner at Breega. “We believe this funding will help accelerate an already ongoing transformation of the market.”
The company said it has recorded growth in transaction volumes since launching its transaction platform in 2023, including surpassing 730,000 monthly visits on its Agenz.ma website in May 2026.
Abike Dabiri-Erewa, Chairman of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), has strongly condemned the treatment of Nigerians in South Africa, describing the latest wave of attacks and discrimination against migrants as unacceptable and deeply troubling.
Speaking after the arrival of the first batch of 258 Nigerians evacuated from South Africa, Dabiri-Erewa said the returnees were targeted despite committing no offence.
“Those 258 that came in, none of them committed any crime. The only crime they committed was the colour of their skin; they are black migrants in South Africa,” she said.
The NiDCOM boss expressed disappointment at what she described as the failure of South African authorities to adequately protect foreign nationals, warning against the blanket stigmatisation of migrants.
“If one person commits a crime, get that person and deal with that person. You cannot generalise, and their government is looking the other way, and that is the sad part,” she added.
Dabiri-Erewa said Nigeria was continuing diplomatic engagements with South Africa, noting that discussions were ongoing between officials of both countries to address the situation and prevent further attacks.
“What Nigeria will do in terms of bilateral relations, we will hear from the Minister of Foreign Affairs and maybe even the President. But honestly, enough is enough; enough really has to be enough,” she said.
She disclosed that more evacuation flights are expected in the coming days as Nigerian authorities work to bring home citizens who wish to leave South Africa amid growing fears over their safety.
“We are glad this first batch is home, and we are going to have, I think, three to five batches,” she stated.
Several returnees recounted painful experiences, alleging that they suffered discrimination, segregation and degrading treatment. Some claimed migrant families were isolated while their children were separated from others because of their nationality.
The latest incidents have renewed concerns over xenophobic violence in South Africa, where foreign nationals from countries including Nigeria, Ghana, Zimbabwe and Mozambique have repeatedly faced attacks over the years.
Successive Nigerian governments have condemned such attacks and demanded stronger action from Pretoria, insisting that African migrants deserve protection and equal treatment regardless of their country of origin.

Democracy Day in Nigeria is a national public holiday celebrating the restoration of democracy after years of military rule. Until 2018, the day had been celebrated on the 29th of May, but was moved to the 12th of June to honor the historic 1993 presidential election and the struggle for democratic rule.
In honor of this historic moment in Nigerian history, we list 7 public figures, both dead and alive, who have used their platforms to fight for Nigerians’ freedom and rights, even in the face of oppression and backlash.
Funmilayo Ransome-Kuti
Funmilayo Ransome-Kuti is known for her movement against the Abeokuta government during her time as the leader of the Abeokuta Women’s Union. She was arrested for refusing to pay an unjust, gender-differentiated tax imposed on women by the colonial administration and the local ruler (the Alake of Egbaland). Her history as an activist and lobbyist for social justice is said to have inspired her son, Fela Anikulapo-Kuti, who is also notable for his activism.
Charly Boy
Charles Oputa, popularly known as Charly Boy, is a veteran singer and entertainer in Nigeria with a documented history of activism. The entertainer has spent years advocating for social justice and anti-corruption in Nigeria, a choice that caused him to be tear-gassed, tortured, and detained by the Nigerian police and military for daring to stand up for the citizens of the country.
Mr Macaroni
Debo Adebayo, who is known by the public as Mr Macaroni, is a skit maker, actor, and comedian. He is notable for standing up against the country’s government, most notably during the #EndSars protests, where he was one of the faces leading them. During one of the protests, he was arrested by the police and assaulted in custody. He has simultaneously faced harassment from the government for months after the protests.
Ken Saro-Wiwa
Ken Saro-Wiwa is a legendary Nigerian writer, television producer, and activist who used his platform to speak out against the marginalisation and environmental degradation occurring in Delta State. Due to his insistence and his loud activism, he was executed by the military government in 1995.
Falz
Folarin Falana, professionally known as Falz, is a Nigerian singer, lawyer, and activist. Aside from being notable for his rhymes and lyrics, Falz is one of the most outspoken Afrobeat singers of his generation, using his music and platform to speak out against the oppression Nigerians face from the government. He is known for speaking against police brutality and bad governance, especially during the #EndSars protests, which made him a target of harassment from the Nigerian police and military.
Fela Anikulapo-Kuti
Fela Anikulapo-Kuti is known as Nigeria’s greatest singer, but beyond that, he was an activist influenced by his mother. The singer often used his music and his musical platform to protest against the government, which landed him in prison over 100 times. His music criticised the government, corruption, elitism, and military rule in Nigeria, making him an easy target for the people in power at the time.
DJ Switch
Nigerian disc jockey (DJ), born Obiabuju Catherine Udeh and professionally known as DJ Switch, is one of the most influential figures from the 2020 #EndSars protests in Nigeria. The DJ who had been at the forefront of the protests advocating for the country became a target of the government after she made a live video on her Instagram that detailed the horrific events of 20-10-20, which forced her to run to safety in fear of being arrested and harassed by the government.

Most smartphones today don’t really say much about the people holding them. They’re sleek, yes. Powerful, yes. But emotionally? They all kind of blend into the same story.
That’s why the HOT 70 Series from Infinix feels a little different. It’s not just another upgrade cycle, it’s a shift in how we think about phones altogether. And at the centre of that shift is something surprisingly simple: colour.
Not just colour as “black, blue, or gold” but colour as expression, mood, and identity.
From fashion and music to social media feeds and personal spaces, today’s generation is constantly finding new ways to express who they are. Individuality is no longer confined to what people wear; it extends to the devices they carry, the content they create, and the aesthetics they choose to surround themselves with.
It is this growing desire for self-expression that sits at the heart of the new Infinix HOT 70 Series.
More than a smartphone launch, the HOT 70 Series represents a bold exploration of colour, personality, and identity. Built around Infinix’s new Dynamic Shine Design philosophy, the series transforms the smartphone from a functional everyday device into a personal style statement, introducing a range of colourways that are designed not just to be seen, but to be experienced.
At the centre of the collection is Thermo Orange, perhaps the most expressive smartphone colourway introduced by Infinix to date. Unlike traditional smartphone finishes that remain unchanged throughout their lifespan, Thermo Orange evolves with its environment. Powered by Dual-Way Thermo Sensing Skin technology, the back cover responds to temperature changes, transitioning between different shades of orange depending on surrounding conditions.
In cooler temperatures, the device deepens into a rich, saturated orange. As temperatures rise, it gradually transforms into a lighter, brighter shade. The result is a smartphone that never looks exactly the same twice.
In many ways, the feature mirrors the fluid nature of personal identity itself. Just as people adapt their style, mood, and energy depending on the moment, the HOT 70 adapts alongside its environment, creating a dynamic relationship between the user and the device.
The experience becomes even more personal through the device’s DIY customization capability. Users can imprint semi-permanent patterns, symbols, initials, or creative designs onto the Thermo Orange back cover, transforming the smartphone into a unique canvas of self-expression.
For a generation that values personalization, this feature moves beyond customization and enters the realm of ownership. The device becomes more than a smartphone; it becomes an extension of the user’s personality.
While Thermo Orange takes centre stage, the HOT 70 Series offers other interpretations of personal style through its carefully curated colour palette.
The Quiet Violet edition embodies understated elegance. Inspired by the transition between dusk and dawn, it features subtle purple hues enhanced by Infinix’s Lumina Flare Dynamic Flame Texture. As light interacts with the surface, flowing patterns emerge, creating depth and movement without overwhelming the eye. It is a colourway designed for those who prefer quiet confidence over bold statements.
Green Texture takes inspiration from nature, reflecting the layered beauty of leaf veins and organic forms. The textured finish creates a sense of depth and dimension that changes as the device catches the light. Fresh, contemporary, and effortlessly stylish, it speaks to users who gravitate towards authenticity and natural aesthetics.
The lineup is completed with Night Pulse, Silver Dancer, and Dive Blue, each bringing its own personality to the series. Whether users prefer bold and energetic, clean and modern, or cool and expressive, the HOT 70 Series offers a colourway that feels intentional rather than generic.
This diversity of choice reflects a broader shift in how consumers relate to technology. Smartphones are no longer simply communication tools; they have become extensions of personal style, appearing in photos, videos, workspaces, social media content, and everyday interactions.
What makes these colourways particularly interesting is that they do not simply apply colour to a smartphone. Instead, they create interaction through colour. Light shifts. Textures move. Surfaces respond. The device becomes part of the user’s visual identity rather than merely supporting it.
This philosophy extends to details such as the Crystal Mood Island camera design, where the camera module is elevated from a purely functional component into a design feature that refracts light and adds another layer of visual character to the device.
The HOT 70 Series arrives at a time when smartphones have become deeply intertwined with how people present themselves to the world. They appear in photographs, videos, social media content, workspaces, and everyday interactions. Increasingly, consumers want devices that reflect their tastes and lifestyles as much as their technological needs.
Infinix appears to understand this shift. While the HOT 70 delivers practical features including a dedicated One-Tap AI Button, AI FlashMemo, AI-powered productivity tools, a 50MP camera system, a 6000mAh battery, Military-Grade durability, IP65 water and dust resistance, and up to five years of security updates, the story of the device extends beyond specifications.
At its core, the HOT 70 Series is about expression.
It is about recognising that technology can be functional and fashionable. That smartphones can be practical and personal. That colour can communicate something meaningful about the people who choose it.
In a world where individuality is increasingly celebrated, the HOT 70 Series shows that the strongest statements are often made through the colours we carry every day. For a generation unafraid to stand out, the message is simple: Be Seen. Be Hot.
The Infinix Hot 70 is available at authorized retailers nationwide priced at ₦189,900 for the 128GB variant and ₦299,900 for the 256GB variant.
