NBA sensation Steph Curry and his wife, Ayesha, have sent shockwaves through their fanbase with the announcement of their fourth pregnancy. Already parents to daughters Riley, 11, and Ryan, eight, along with son Canon, five, the Curry household is brimming with excitement as they prepare to welcome a new addition. In an intimate interview with Village People accompanying the announcement, Ayesha disclosed that this fourth pregnancy will mark the final chapter in their parenting journey, prompting her to savor every moment. Reflecting on the fleeting nature of time and the newfound perspective that comes with age, she emphasized the need to cherish each experience, especially as she navigates the challenges of what is commonly termed a “geriatric pregnancy.”

Championing a shift in societal dialogue surrounding motherhood and age, Ayesha advocated for a more nuanced approach, acknowledging the unique circumstances and journeys of women in their 30s and 40s. Drawing from her own maternal instincts and previous pregnancies, she underscored the importance of self-trust and individualized parenting approaches.

Furthermore, Ayesha revealed her past reluctance to lean on her “village” during earlier pregnancies, acknowledging the toll it took on her well-being.

“I didn’t always want the village. I was really stubborn in my earlier pregnancies,” Ayesha confessed, reflecting on her initial resistance to accepting help. “And that hurt me in the end. It made things really hard on me.”

However, Ayesha’s perspective underwent a profound shift as she recognized the importance of setting aside pride and allowing herself to receive assistance. “I had to learn to put my pride aside and realize it was okay to take help, to have people around me help and to not shy away from it,” she explained. “I’m still trying to figure out what building my village looks like.”

She emphasized the necessity of surrounding oneself with a supportive community, whether in raising children, pursuing entrepreneurial endeavors, or simply navigating the complexities of daily life – preparing a meal.

In another  deeply introspective moment, Ayesha Curry also  shed light on the spiritual and personal dimensions of her pregnancy journey. She revealed how her spirituality and self-care practices have become integral aspects of her support system during this transformative time.

“Part of my village, in the more abstract sense, is my spirituality; my relationship to God; my relationship with myself,” Ayesha shared, emphasizing the importance of nurturing her inner connection amidst the excitement of expecting her fourth child. She highlighted the significance of speaking to her baby, whether through mental or verbal communication, as a profound act of bonding and intentionality.

Drawing from her research on genetics and intergenerational trauma, Ayesha underscored the profound impact of thoughts, feelings, and words on the developing child within. “What you think and what you feel and how you speak really impacts the person growing inside of you,” she explained, expressing her commitment to fostering a positive environment for her children both in utero and beyond.
