Former Fox News host Kimberly Guilfoyle is set to take on a prominent role in the incoming Trump administration, serving as the U.S. Ambassador to Greece. The announcement came on Tuesday from President-elect Donald Trump, who praised Guilfoyle for her qualifications and dedication to the country.
“Kimberly’s extensive experience in law, media, and politics, along with her sharp intellect, make her supremely qualified to represent the United States and safeguard its interests abroad,” Trump stated in a Truth Social post. “She is perfectly suited to foster strong bilateral relations with Greece, advancing our interests on issues ranging from defense cooperation to trade and economic innovation.”
Guilfoyle, 55, who previously worked as a prosecutor in California before transitioning to a media career at Fox News, will relocate to Athens next year to assume her new role. Her appointment comes amid personal changes, as her engagement to Donald Trump Jr. has reportedly come to an end.
A Relationship in Transition
Guilfoyle and Trump Jr. began dating in 2018 and became engaged on December 31, 2020. However, their engagement wasn’t publicly confirmed until January 2022. The relationship appeared to unravel earlier this year when photos surfaced of Trump Jr., 46, dining with another woman, Palm Beach socialite Bettina Anderson.
A source familiar with the couple revealed to Daily Mail that the two have not been seen together for weeks. “There is no more Kimberly and Don – at least not romantically,” the source stated, adding that while their engagement has not been officially called off, they were waiting until after the inauguration to announce their split.
Guilfoyle reportedly felt “blindsided” by the images of Trump Jr. with Anderson, while he has been spending increasing time with his new romantic interest in Palm Beach.
Moving Forward
Despite the personal challenges, both Guilfoyle and Trump Jr. appear to be moving forward. Trump Jr. expressed his support for his ex-fiancée’s new role, writing on X, “I am so proud of Kimberly. She loves America and always wanted to serve the country as an Ambassador. She will be an amazing leader for America First.”
Guilfoyle’s appointment marks a new chapter in her career, as she steps into a diplomatic role leveraging her background in law and media. Her connection to the Trump family, initially established through her relationship with Trump Jr., has now evolved into a professional partnership as she joins the administration.
