Kim Kardashian is reportedly weighing the possibility of filing for full custody of her four children with ex-husband Kanye West due to concerns over his recent social media activity and public behavior.
According to multiple sources cited by Us Weekly, Kardashian, 44, is seriously considering taking legal steps to obtain full custody of North, 11, Saint, 8, Chicago, 6, and Psalm, 5.
“She is in a very tough position when it comes to co-parenting with Kanye,” an insider revealed. “Right now, he is very distracted, and while she does not want to say anything negative about him, her primary concern is the safety of her kids.”
Another source stated that Kardashian is particularly worried that West’s online actions could negatively impact their children. The rapper, 47, has a history of controversial remarks, including antisemitic statements, and recently sparked further concern after releasing a song featuring their eldest daughter, North. The track, “Lonely Roads Still Go to Sunshine,” was shared on March 15 and included vocals from North, despite Kardashian’s reported attempts to prevent her name from being associated with the project.
Screenshots shared by TMZ suggest Kardashian sent West legal paperwork to stop North’s involvement, citing her trademarked name. In response, West allegedly wrote, “And neither of us will recover from the public fallout. You’re going to have to kill me.”
Kardashian and West were married in 2014 and finalized their divorce in November 2022. Since their split, Kardashian has been open about the struggles of co-parenting. In a 2022 interview on the Angie Martinez IRL podcast, she expressed her dedication to shielding her children from their father’s controversial actions.
“I had the best dad. Co-parenting is really f—ing hard,” she admitted. “In my home, my kids don’t know anything that goes on in the outside world. I am holding on by a thread, but while it is still that way, I will protect that to the end of the Earth.”
Despite their differences, West has also spoken about his role in raising his children, acknowledging that Kardashian has them most of the time. In a 2022 interview on the Alo Mind Full podcast, he stated, “Even to this day, I’ll still give Kim advice on things that could help because that’s going to go to the kids.”
