The divorce between Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck is facing significant delays due to a complete breakdown in communication between the estranged couple. Sources close to the situation tell TMZ that neither Lopez nor Affleck is speaking to each other, which has brought their divorce proceedings to a standstill.
Despite having a prenuptial agreement and minimal assets to divide—primarily their Beverly Hills mansion, currently listed for $68 million—their inability to communicate is preventing a swift resolution. Instead of hiring divorce lawyers, both parties have delegated the negotiations to their respective business managers. These managers are handling the financial aspects of the divorce, but the process is proving complicated without direct communication between Lopez and Affleck.
The couple’s Beverly Hills estate is one of the primary assets to be divided. Affleck has already moved on, closing on a $20.5 million mansion in Brentwood, while Lopez continues her search for a new home. Interestingly, Affleck finalized his new home purchase on the same day Lopez turned 55, a coincidence that underscores the growing distance between them.
While they have yet to hire divorce lawyers, it is anticipated that Lopez and Affleck will eventually do so. Legal documents requesting a divorce will not be filed until a settlement is reached, further prolonging the process.
For now, the impasse continues, and until Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck reopen lines of communication, their divorce proceedings will remain sluggish.
