Christina Sandera, the longtime partner of legendary actor Clint Eastwood, has passed away at the age of 61. The news was confirmed by Eastwood himself via The Hollywood Reporter on Friday.
“Christina was a lovely, caring woman,” the 94-year-old Oscar winner expressed in his statement. “I will miss her very much.”
The exact circumstances surrounding Sandera’s passing remain private, as Eastwood’s spokesperson indicated that no further information would be released.
Sandera and Eastwood began their relationship in 2014. At the time, Sandera was working as a hostess at Eastwood’s Mission Ranch Hotel and Restaurant in Carmel-by-the-Sea, California. Their relationship became public when they made their red carpet debut together at the 2015 Academy Awards.
Prior to his relationship with Sandera, Eastwood was married twice. His first marriage was to model Maggie Johnson in 1953, a union that lasted 11 years, although their divorce was not finalized until 1984. He later married journalist Dina Ruiz in 1996, a marriage that lasted until 2014.
Eastwood has fathered eight children over the years. His children include daughter Morgan, 27, with Ruiz; son Kyle, 56, and daughter Alison, 52, with Johnson. He also has daughters Laurie, 69, and Kimber, 60, with an unidentified woman and stuntwoman Roxanne Tunis, respectively. His children with flight attendant Jacelyn Reeves, son Scott, 38, and daughter Kathryn, 36, were born in 1986 and 1988. Additionally, he shares daughter Francesca, 30, with actress Frances Fisher.
Despite their relatively private life, Eastwood and Sandera’s relationship was marked by public appearances and mutual support, highlighting a deep bond that extended through a significant portion of their later years.
