Nominations are based on information gathered and received by the Poughkeepsie Journal throughout the week. For consideration, coaches are asked to submit game information and player stats to Edecker@usatodayco.com before the end of the week.
Each week’s winner will be selected and posted in the upcoming week’s poll. Polls will close at 8:30 p.m. on Sunday night before the announcement the following morning.
Yager finished with four goals and an assist in Highland’s 13-11 victory over Saugerties.
Mielich went 4-for-7 with two RBIs and two runs scored. He also tossed a complete game two-hitter in a 2-1 victory over FDR.
Paschal went 3-for-5, nearly going for the cycle with a single, double and triple as well as 6 RBIs and two runs scored in Red Hook’s 16-4 victory over Dover.
Correa smacked two doubles, a home run and drove in two runners in a 7-6 victory over Washingtonville.
Broughton placed first in both the 100-meter dash (11.20) and the 200-meter dash (22.59) at the MHAL Championships at Rondout Valley High School.
McPherson placed first in both the 3200-meter run (9:29.51) and the 300-meter (10:05.75) at the MHAL Championships at Rondout Valley High School.
Apostolous tallied five hits, four RBIs and three runs scored over two games this week.
Hinspeter went 2-for-3 with four RBIs in Lourdes’ 11-2 victory over Washingtonville.
