Yoruba popular actress Faithia Williams has made an emotional post, the first following her mother’s burial.

Her mother, Mrs Gloria Uzoamaka Williams, died on February 7, a day before the actress marked her 55th birthday. A video on social media on Saturday showed Faithia in tears during the burial ceremony held at Ebony Vaults, Ikoyi Cemetery, Lagos. The actress’s mother was laid to rest on Saturday, March 7th, with a few of her colleagues in attendance.

The Nollywood actress has since then commented on the reality of her mother’s death, which has not fully sunk in. She shared a close relationship with her mother, whom she described as her cheerleader, prayer warrior, best friend, and gist partner.

On her Instagram page, the  ‘Ewere Ile’ actress shared a clip from her mother’s burial, saying how she has finally gone to rest. The movie star bade her mother farewell, telling her to rest well.

“My mother has finally gone to rest, IYAMI OWON, sun ree ooo”.

Ever since the news became public, condolences have been pouring in for the actress and her family.

Faithia lost her father in April 2024. She announced his passing on her Instagram page, expressing profound sadness. The actress and family laid him to rest according to Islamic rites.
